A fading jazz player’s career gets a jump start when he enlists the aid of a beautiful manager named Marissa. She’s in love with his music. He’s in love with her soul. The one sour note: he’s married. Marissa…as steamy as a back alley club. As hot as a Coltrane riff.
This AVN Award-nominated film stars John Decker as an aging saxophonist who mixes adultery with his club gigs. There is a thick plot that has its ups and downs and takes a couple of unexpected turns. But more importantly, the sex scenes sizzle. Second to that would be the remarkable jazz music that is played throughout.
The overall DVD quality is very good. The colors are true and perfectly saturated. The picture, on the other hand, has some small flaws. It’s noisy at times and has some slight all-over pixelation. The audio is excellent. The Dolby 5.1 digital surround sound is clean and clear.
This disc is packed with extras, such as bonus footage, cast bios, a photo gallery, and trailers. The DVD itself has alternate angles that allow the viewer to see the action from different sides. — Critical Rating: AAAA 1/2 (AVN)
